Sweden trip – Day one
My beauty sleep was interrupted by the sun. I opened my eyes and I first asked who and where I am. Soon I recognized that I wasn’t at home. Few looks around me affirmed that I’ve really travelled to Sweden where I haven’t been before. The sun woke me up because the roller blind wasn’t lowered that I hadn’t noticed at my arrival. It looked quite unstable so I didn’t touch it next days. There was such an extremely light in the room which gave me a lot of energy.
I slept on the floor. The radiator didn’t work so it was quite fresh in the room. Furthermore there was a draught but it didn’t matter. I was glad to have a sleeping place
I took a shower in the late morning and then I went to the supermarket. I bought some stuff for my breakfast, lunch and dinner for next days. The food there is more expensive than in Germany. After my lunch I walked through the city. I passed an Apple store on that let blaze my eyes. I was courious about the Swedish prices. A few minutes I got shocked. The price for a new battery for my MacBook is almost doubled than in Germany. Crazy!
Please notice the blue sky in the picture of the Apple reseller. Only 10 minutes later there was something like a snow storm. It was so amazing. Before I entered a little shop it looked quite nice. When I came out I felt like a timetraveller.
I passed a huge building that I was interested in. It was the Stockholm public library.

I entered it and I was really surprised how much place there was. All the books are organised on layered circles. The sight from one corner1 to another wasn’t blocked from bookshelves. I spent two hours there. They had a wireless connection to the internet for free. I just had to fill in a form to get a one day valid access code.
I contacted some people on couchsurfing.com to meet for a coffee. Pierluigi said almost instantaneous yes when I asked him. So we arranged a meeting at Central Station. Our meeting finally got a burger and French fries meeting. He offered me one and a half burger. Thanks Pierluigi ![]()
Well he hadn’t that much time but in this hour we talked intense about Ericsson2 and about WordPress that he was interested in.
I showed him how easy it is to manage a WordPress powered website. After the meeting I went back to my host’s home. En route I met another guy (see the picture). I didn’t feel comfortable in front of him. He looked at me but didn’t say anything.
Sweden trip – Journey
Today my Sweden trip started. First I took the bus to the train station. In Landstuhl I had to walk 10 minutes to Raststätte Ramstein where I took the airport shuttle. No problem has occured yet and I’m not too late. Far from it! I considered that the train or the bus could have had problems so there was one hour of time buffer. At the airport I checked the weight of my luggage. Shock. It’s too heavy. What to do? Ok first I’m eating all my food.

I saved half of a kilo. Then I had to reorganise my stuff. I had to move some things to my bag luggage. But my bag luggage shouldn’t get too big. There’s a limitation on size. When the weight was fine for both pieces of my luggage I checked in. I had to spend two hours at the airport. So what to do? I tried to use my cell phone as a modem but I couldn’t go online with my laptop. I’ve done some work offline and notified the chief that I’m going to send my work by mail next days. At 9:25 p.m. I went on board. First I had to wait a couple of minutes because there has been a snow storm.

Some time later I arrived in Skavsta. I took the airport shuttle to Stockholm. At 1:30 a.m. in the morning I arrived in Stockholm. I passed the Word Trade Centre and went to a Tante Emma Laden to eat a Swedish hot dog. Then I went to my host’s house and I noticed that there has still been snow on the cars. Then I had to awaken my host. I was in the front of his house. Two minutes later he opened the door. He looked very tired. Of course it was two a.m. in the morning.
